Allulose is a naturally occurring, low-calorie sugar that metabolises differently to normal sugar, therefore does not raise blood sugar levels. It tastes and performs just like sugar, browning, and caramelizing, and has a great mouthfeel.
Current New Zealand labelling standards differ from US Standards, requiring the nutritional content of Allulose to be labelled as sugar. In reality, its effect on the body makes it suitable for low carb, keto, and Low glycemic (0) diets.
When calculating net carbs for your daily macros, the indented Allulose is deducted from the Carbohydrate line.
e.g. 100g = 77.8g Total Carbs – 69.8g Allulose = 8g Net Carbs per 100g Allulose
And 4g Serving = 3.11g Total Carbs – 2.79g Allulose = 0.32g Net Carbs per 4g Serving
